This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable.

By accessing or using our website or services, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

  • Details about your business, such as your approximate monthly revenue and whether you run paid ads

2.2 Non-Personal Information:

We may automatically collect non-personal information, such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser type
  • Device type
  • Pages visited on our website
  • Time and date of your visit

3. How we use your information

We may use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain our services
  • To communicate with you regarding your inquiries or projects
  • To arrange and hold calls you book with us, including confirmations and reminders by email and text message
  • To phone or text you about a call you’ve asked for, including when you’ve asked for one but haven’t picked a time yet

4. Disclosure of information

We will not share or sell your personal information to third parties, except as required for:

  • Legal compliance (e.g., in response to a legal request or investigation)
  • Service provision (e.g., payment processing, web hosting)
  • Protecting our rights or property

We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our business. These third parties are obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of your information.

We use HighLevel to manage bookings, emails and text messages, and Slack to let our team know about new enquiries. The details you give us are stored on their systems, which may be outside New Zealand (see section 9).

5. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no internet-based service is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience on our website and to analyse how our services are used.

We also use Meta (Facebook and Instagram) tools such as the Meta Pixel, and Google tools such as Google Analytics and Google Ads, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and show more relevant ads. These tools may collect information about your use of our website, which may be linked to your Meta or Google account and used in line with their respective privacy policies. You can manage how your information is used in your Facebook Ad Settings, Google Ad Settings, or through your browser settings.

When you send us your details through a form on our website, or book a call, we may share your email address and phone number with Meta and Google in hashed form. Hashing turns them into a code before they’re sent. Meta and Google use that code to match your enquiry to an ad you may have seen, so we can tell which of our ads work. They don’t receive those details from us in readable form.

We also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use our website, through heatmaps and recordings of visits. Clarity uses cookies to do this. Microsoft handles that data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our website.

7. Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and GDPR (if applicable), you have the following rights:

  • Access: You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: You can ask us to correct any inaccurate or outdated information.
  • Deletion: You can request the deletion of your personal data, subject to legal obligations.
  • Objection: You can object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@told.co.nz.

8. Retention of information

We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

9. International transfers

If you are located outside of New Zealand, your personal information may be transferred to, and processed in, New Zealand or other jurisdictions where our third-party service providers operate. We will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

10. Updates to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy regularly to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
